This delightful miniature realisation of a Rolls Royce Silver Ghost was designed by John Herdman and was published in Constructor Quarterly No. 63 for March 2004.

The scale is set by the spoked wheels from the short lived Crazy Inventors set range. In shiny new zinc parts, it looks a treat, but is devilishly difficult to photograph without the right equipment.

I rebuilt the model in late 2006 for a radio interview with Jon Faine to promote the Melbourne Meccano Club Inc. annual exhibition, as it was common knowledge that he is a motor car enthusiast. I needn’t have bothered, after a cursory off-air examination, concentrated on the clock I had with me.
